FAQSFrequently Asked Questions Corner

Why choose an online personal trainer?

  • Very Affordable – Personal trainers can run anywhere from $50/hour to over $100/hour

  • Convenience – You work out when YOU’RE ready, not whenever a trainer is available. You’ll have 24/7 access to your personal work-out regime.

  • Comfort – Gyms can be intimidating and/or over-crowded which makes working out at home a very enticing alternative

  • Effective - Dieters who received weekly advice on the Internet lost three times as much weight in six months as those who just had access to information about diet and exercise on the Internet — That’s losing 18 pounds compared to 6 pounds

  • Mobility – Be anywhere you like and as long as you can access the internet, you’ll have access to your online trainer…so you’ll have to come up with a better excuse =o)

Where should I work-out?

It’s not a matter of “where” but where would be “best” for YOU. You can work out at home, at the park, or in the gym. Some things to consider are price, availability, motivation, location and TIME. You can get great workouts at home while you’re watching your favorite TV shows, BUT you have to be self-motivating. “Where” is not as important as it is to just train somewhere...safe.

How often should I work-out?

Shoot for at least 3 times a week to see results and feel better. 4-5 times would be even better. The more you commit, the more you’ll be fit. The important thing is to be consistent and to work at making working-out a life habit.

What type of fitness equipment should I purchase?

It depends. It all comes down to what level you’re at and how you’ll be training. If you’ll be doing strength training, you’ll definitely need some equipment that provides resistance. Decide what exercises you’ll be committed to and make sure you have the proper equipment for them. If you’ll be working out in the gym, your gym should provide all the equipment you’ll need.

Why is strength training so beneficial?

Strength training builds muscle which increases your metabolism, even when you’re not working out. Increased metabolism means you’ll burn more fat. Strength training is also ideal for preventing osteoporosis which is a condition that causes bones to become less solid and less dense, which gradually makes them weaker and more brittle.
